Kwong (Andy Lau) is a young boy who lives with his father and stepmother (Karen Mok). He blames his stepmother for the suicide of his mother 3 years earlier and continually runs away from home. One day, while walking to school, he meets an eccentric old man in the park who accidentally pours a magic potion he has created down a drain. The next day, a huge tree has grown from a seedling in the drain. Kwong goes to the man's house and steals the potion, falling and breaking it as he tries to run away. Some of the potion enters a cut in his hand, and the next day he wakes up to find he has grown to the age of 20 overnight. Kwong is thrilled that he has become an adult and is able to finally run away from home without being recognized. As he gets older each day, he learns more about being an adult and about the situations of those around him.Luckily, he used surplus of time get together with his father and stepmother. Before he passed away, first time he spoke out the word his stepmother desire to listen " Mother"
The movie is intermingling of sorrow and joy,it really tourch one deeply in my heart.Even though the end of movie is sorrowful but it gave me positive meaning. We must face up ourself life meaning. Human life defect is life did not have second opening; nevertheless,it may not be a bad idea.Life's right is not leave at human decision but is God to decided, we have no right to nullify to oppose it. In addition, I was born to this world: Not I born myself.This represent we born to this world is more higher authority, we can't to do whatever we like.
Movie is different from ours life. Movie can rebroadcast but life only has once.Everyone has once chance only not more than twice.In case one day someone said " I need my life has second chance,what is the end? Maybe he will treasure it and living more wonderfull; on the contrary, the person may receive circumambulate and face up the problems., at least the person life has second chance and the person don't care about it.Even more the person live worst than before.
" Human heart compare with others creature is more crafty".Therefore God gave us once life chance to us and it is a right good choice and brilliant.So we must seriously to face up our life, treasure it and chary to live.Since life has once, we must devote every effort to do the best, and have a clear conscience.
